and Gentling Center
High Sierra Wild Horse Sanctuary and Gentling Center was established the help provide a safe haven or temporary home for horses when their owners are faced with unforeseen circumstances and to take care of horses that are in need of quality care when found abandoned, abused or in need of a loving home.
Ranger was left tied to a log in the middle of nowhere, left to fend for himself...... brought a bale of hay once a week........ left near a stream, stalked by a mountain lion, afraid to go for water...... what might have become of him if he hadn't been found and brought to our sanctuary?click here to read more
We work to gentle the wild and abused horses to help them adjust to a loving and caring home. Our goal is to help these horses feel loved and cared for. Some of the horses will remain here with us forever and for that we are grateful. Many others will be able to be adopted into loving families because of our efforts.
Lucky was left to fend for himself in the mountains after his owner died. For five long years he lived alone, fed dog food occasionally by someone that felt sorry for him...... tormented and lost an eye from someone that didn't care about him at all..... we brought Lucky to the sanctuary to be brought back to health, to be cared for and most of all loved again........click here to read more
Rosie was a miniature horse kept in deplorable conditions with another mini horse...... what happened to them is simply tragic.........click here to read more
Won't you please help Ranger, Lucky, Rosie, and so many others like them? Your donation will make a difference in the lives of these animals............
